Sheriff: Suspect fired shots at law enforcement
LONDON, Ky. (WTVQ) – The Laurel County Sheriff says a man has been arrested on wanton endangerment charges after he fired a gun at officers Thursday night.
According to the Sheriff, officers were conducting a search for a suspect who had ran from a Laurel County deputy earlier in the day. Just before 11:30 p.m., they got to a home off Goodin Lane, the Sheriff says 63-year-old Roy Hibbard came out on his porch and fired two shots at them. Officers say they were only about 150 feet away from the home.
Hibbard was taken into custody, and officers say he admitted he had taken hydrocodone earlier in the evening. Investigators seized a Glock 9mm in the arrest.
