UPDATE: Coroner identifies victim in fatal Lexington stabbing
LEXINGTON, Ky. (WTVQ) – The Fayette County Coroner has identified the victim in a stabbing death outside a Lexington home Sunday night that police are now investigating as a homicide.
According to the coroner, the victim is 28-year-old Trenton Monroe.
Police say it happened in the 1800-block of Hisle Way shortly after 9 p.m. Sunday.
According to officers, a woman called 911 to say her husband had been hit with a baseball bat after a fight.
When police arrived, they found a man lying on the ground in front of the house, unresponsive, with stab wounds. They found the other man inside, who they say had been struck with a blunt object.
Both were taken to the hospital, where the stabbing victim was pronounced dead by the coroner.
Police say the other man’s injuries were not life-threatening.
No charges have been filed at this time.
