Documents: Facebook helps lead to suspect’s arrest
LEXINGTON, Ky. (WTVQ) – Police say they have the suspect behind two store robberies and a home invasion in Lexington, and it looks like he was caught with the help of Facebook.
Deverious Jones is accused of robbing the Hibbett Sports Store on Winchester Road on September 8th and the Hibbet Sports Store on Richmond Road September 13th.
He is also accused of burglarizing a home on Lucille Drive on September 7th.
According to court documents, one of the victims in that home invasion said she located a Facebook profile of one of the suspects under the name of “Rich Porter.”
However, a picture on the profile page had a UPS badge with the name “Deverious Jones” on it, along with his social security number.
Documents say the victims were shown a picture of Jones, and they all positively identified Jones.
Police say they are still looking for another suspect in the home invasion, Tahjee Winters.
