Missing Indiana man found in Kentucky

LONDON, Ky. (WTVQ) – Kentucky State Police say two officers found a missing Indiana man early Tuesday morning.

Troopers say at around 5:00 a.m. two officers stopped a red Dodge Pickup on I-75 near the 33 mile marker in Laurel Co., after they saw the driver – headed northbound in a southbound lane – nearly hit a tractor trailer.

When they got the truck pulled over they found 79-year-old George W. Surber, if Richmond, Indiana, behind the wheel.  A search of the National Crime Information Center (NCIC,) revealed Surber as a Missing Endangered Person.

Officers discovered that Surber, an Alzheimer’s patient in need of his medication, had been missing since Monday.

Troopers say no medical attention was required at the scene, and family members are headed to Kentucky to reunite with Surber.
