Third down busts
LEXINGTON, Ky. (WTVQ) – 44-35 and 45-7 aren’t good enough. 0-2 isn’t good enough. Not showing up the last 6 quarters isn’t good enough.
Kentucky football right now, as Solid Blue fans know, just isn’t good enough…or at least isn’t showing it if indeed the talent is there.
Mark Stoops is taking a more active role with the defense this week.
D.J. Eliot is still the defensive coordinator, but the big Cat is calling the shots a little more closely with New Mexico State coming to town.
Mainly, Stoops is trying to get his ‘D’ off the field on third downs.
It’ll take a combination of pressure and coverage to get it done.
Doing it has been the hard part, but Stoops may have the answer…and it goes back to that first half against Southern Miss.
Hear from Stoops in the video.
