Update: Off-Duty State Trooper Killed In Accident Identified
Investigators said Trooper Anson Tribby, 25, of Mays Lick, Kentucky, was killed in a two vehicle accident Tuesday night along eastbound I-64 in Clark County near Mile Marker 99.
State Police said Tribby was off-duty at the time of the accident. He was driving his personal vehicle, a pickup. The other vehicle involved was a tow truck. The circumstances surrounding the collision are under investigation by accident reconstruction specialists.
According to the KSP Website, Trooper Tribby was a graduate of Mason County High School and the University of Kentucky.
He had been with the Kentucky State Police nearly 3-years. He was assigned to the Morehead Post.
In December 2012, Trooper Tribby was honored for arresting 61 impaired drivers during the year.
He was recognized as Trooper of the Year for Post 8 in Morehead in 2011.
