LEXINGTON, Ky. (WTVQ) – The 9th Annual Diana Ross Coat Drive, hosted by the Office of the Fayette County Sheriff and community partners, will be held from November 15- December 15.

Republic Bank will continue to serve as drop off sites at all Lexington locations while Chase Dry Cleaners and Blue gra s Cleaners have agreed to clean all donated coats. The coat drive is held in honor and memory of Diana Ross, a tireless advocate for victims of domestic violence throughout Central Kentucky and the United States.

“My friend Diana Ross transformed her grief every day into small acts of love that helped others. There i no better way to honor Diana than to offer warmth to those who need it. This coat drive i a mission to serve the community as she did, and to love our neighbors,” Sheriff Kathy Witt said.

“I know my mother would be proud of the life changing work done in her name. She believed in creating a little good each day. This coat drive is a testament to her giving spirit and I am so grateful to carry on in her work,” said Carrie Ross, the daughter of Diana Ross.

Carrie Terra Ott, manager of Bluegrass Cleaners and Co-Owner of Chase Dry Cleaners, and Zaynab Khan, Co Owner of Chase Dry Cleaners, have agreed to clean all donated coats. Before a coat is given away, it will be cleaned professionally. In the eight years of the coat drive, thousands of coats have been cleaned by the two partners and given to individuals who request them.

“Chase and Bluegrass Cleaners are proud to continue to be a partner in this project for the ninth year running. We believe a clean coat is an opportunity for someone and we are proud to contribute to ur community in this wonderful project,” said Gregg Robinson of Chase Dry Cleaners.
