Over 100 layoffs expected at Lexmark

LEXINGTON, Ky. (WTVQ) – On Wednesday, Lexmark International, Inc. filed a notice to the city, announcing it’s intent to layoff 143 employees.

Lexmark employs about 2,300 people.  A February report from the company detailed a restructuring effort that would eliminate 550 positions worldwide.

The layoffs are expected to begin on May 25, and run through June 8.

In the notice, the company says the layoffs are expected to be a permanent measure, but that they will not be closing the facility entirely.
