LPD: Woman flees accident, 3 cars damaged
LONDON, Ky. (WTVQ) — Deputy Craig Sutton reported investigating a three vehicle hit-and-run that occurred on US 25 on March 9.
According to Sheriff John Root, the collision begun approximately 1 mile north of London, at around 3:47 p.m.
The investigating deputy reported a maroon colored 2003 Chrysler Concorde pulled out of a business, into the path of a southbound Ford Fusion. The two collided, causing severe damage to the Ford fusion’s front. (pictured above) The Concorde did not stop at the scene of the crash, and instead sped off down US 25.

The deputy reported the Concorde approached stopped traffic, swerved to avoid the stopped traffic, and ran off into a ditch. While swerving, the Concorde reportedly threw up debris onto a gold colored Chevy Malibu, which damaged the front bumper and roof.
Police report the Concorde continued to flee through London. TJ’s towing reportedly stopped the vehicle off the roadway, delaying it until deputies arrived.
The Concorde was driven by 30 year old Betty Lay, and police say she had been driving with her two young children in the back seat.
Lay said she had been scared, and that’s why she fled.
Lay was arrested for fleeing the scene of an accident. , and her children released to day care personnel.
While Betty Lay and her children reported being unharmed, London deputies say the driver of the Ford Fusion was transported to St. Joseph Hospital for treatment of injuries.
