LPD: Man assaults, kidnaps ex-girlfriend

LEXINGTON, Ky. (WTVQ) – Police arrest a man they say broke into his ex-girlfriend’s house, assaulted her, fired a shot, then kidnapped her.

According to court documents, on February 27th, 29-year-old Demarquis Washington tried climbing into the victim’s bedroom window, gave up and began banging on the back door, according to court documents.

She told police she let him in because he threatened to kick the door in and she didn’t want to wake up her family and her children.

She said when Washington saw she had a man in the house, he pulled a gun, hit her in the face and ran the man out.

Documents say he fired a shot in the house and took her at gunpoint from the home.

She says Washington drove her to another home, yelled and cursed at her, questioned her about her male friend, and then took her home.
