‘Snicker’ continues recovery process in Jessamine County

JESSAMINE COUNTY, Ky. (WTVQ)- More good news from the Jessamine County Animal Care & Control this afternoon: The dog named ‘Snicker’ is well on his way toward recovery.

Video posted to the group’s Facebook page Saturday morning shows ‘Snicker’ walking around with the help of a veterinarian.

Snicker is one of two dogs seized a few days ago,  after a concerned neighbor called in about the alarmingly thin animals kept outdoors in the freezing weather.

The dogs showed signs of dehydration and undernourishment, and JCACC caretakers put heaters in their kennels to raise their body heat.

The veterinarian in charge of Snicker’s recovery said, “He’s eaten twice today. I’ve walked him around the clinic twice. He made it about 20 feet the first time, then half way around the second time.[…] I think he’s going to continue to get better both physically and emotionally.”

The other dog, a black lab mix, seemed much better off when the two were rescued, and appears to be doing well.
