Deputies: Man knocks mother down trying to flee officers

PULASKI COUNTY, Ky. (WTVQ)- The Pulaski County Sheriff’s Department says a man knocked his mother down as he tried to get away from deputies.

Investigators say 41-year-old Eddie R. Correll of Somerset was arrested Tuesday on warrants out of Pulaski County and Russell County.

Deputies say they found him hiding in an attic at West Highway 80 Apartments. When they went to arrest Correll, they say he ran off and slightly injured his mother by knocking her down. According to investigators, a deputy then caught and arrested him.

The sheriff’s office says Correll was charged on a Russell County Circuit Court Indictment for two counts of Burglary (2nd Degree), Criminal Mischief (1st Degree), Theft by Unlawful Taking (Over $500 but Under $10,000) and Persistent Felony Offender.

It says he was also served with a Pulaski Circuit Court Indictment Warrant for Burglary (2nd Degree), Theft by Unlawful Taking or Disposition-All Others, Criminal Mischief (2nd Degree) and Persistent Felony Offender.

In addition, after the arrest, the sheriff’s office says Correll was charged with Fleeing or Evading (1st Degree-On Foot), Assault 4th Degree (No visible injury), two counts Resisting Arrest and Persistent Felony Offender (1st).
