Family, Officers address board in Doneghy parole hearing

LEXINGTON, Ky. (WTVQ) – Family and police outlined their case in front of a parole board Monday, requesting to keep a man convicted of hitting and killing a Lexington Police Officer in 2010 behind bars.

A jury convicted Glenn Doneghy of manslaughter  after he struck Officer Bryan Durman with his SUV.  Officer Durman was on-duty investigating a noise complaint on North Limestone.

It was standing room only, on Monday, as family members, along with representatives with the Fraternal Order of Police, told the parole board their belief that Doneghy is not fit to be released, and would likely hurt someone again if he were granted parole.

Durman’s widow has recently asked for public support in keeping her husband’s killer behind bars.  She presented the board a petition with 5600 signatures today.

Doneghy will plead his case to the board tomorrow.

He was denied parole back in 20-14.
