8th suspect arrested in missing baby case in Ohio County

OHIO COUNTY, Ky. (ABC36 NEWS NOW) — State police have announced the arrest of an eighth individual in connection with the case of missing 8-month-old Miya Rudd, who was reported missing in April from Ohio County.

According to authorities, 28-year-old Brodie Payne has been charged with trafficking for his alleged involvement in an illegal drug operation at the residence of Miya Rudd’s parents. Payne had been residing at the home for approximately six months prior to his arrest. Investigators also allege that Payne was using the postal service to traffic drugs.

Meanwhile, the search for 8-month-old Miya Rudd continues. The infant has been missing since April, prompting an extensive investigation and search efforts by state police.

Those arrested in connection with the case include Miya Rudd’s parents and both sets of grandparents. State police have reiterated their commitment to continue searching for the baby and will be actively involved in search operations today.
