8th Annual BKMC Burn Run 2017 – Brothers Keepers
Club members Patti Martz and Melissa Bayer tell Katie Solove how the Brothers Keepers Motorcycle Club is revving up for the 8th Annual BKMC Burn Run 2017!
Brothers Keepers is an all firefighter motorcycle club that started in 2003 in Louisiana and has branched out across the U.S., Canada, and Australia with almost 40 chapters. The Lexington chapter was formed in 2009.
BKMC Chapter 6 was organized to not only to provide camaraderie and fellowship among Kentucky firefighters who ride motorcycles and their families, but also to support Kentucky kids affected by fire.
The club’s focus is to raise money to send children with traumatic burn injuries to burn camp. At the camp, kids will be around traditional camp faculty, plus medical personnel, and will be able to engage in all sorts of activities.
The annual Burn Run is Brothers Keepers primary fund-raiser, and will feature plenty of events for the public, as well as a poker run and rodeo games for motorcyclists.
The two day event kicks off Friday, May 19th from 6:00 p.m. – 12:00 a.m., and then will continue on Saturday, May 20th, from 12:00 p.m. through 12:00 a.m.
