86-year-old man killed when hit by truck in Pike County

Happened Friday evening in the Goody community

GOODY, Ky. (WTVQ) – The investigation continues into the death of an 86-year-old pedestrian Friday evening in Pike County.

According to Kentucky State Police, Arthur Looney, of the Goody community, was killed as he tried to cross KU.S. 119 in Goody at about 6 p.m. Friday. He was struck by a southbound 2015 Ford F-150, troopers said.

Looney was pronounced dead at the scene by the Pike County Coroner’s Office. The investigation is ongoing by KSP Accident Reconstructionist, Detective Jason Merlo.

Detective Merlo was assisted on scene by Kentucky State Police Post 9 personnel, Belfry Volunteer Fire Department, and Appalachian First Response Ambulance Service.
