Lexington woman arrested after injuring deputies in car pursuit
LANCASTER, Ky. (WTVQ) – A Lexington woman is behind bars after State Police say she led officers on a car chase that ended when she lost control of her car and crashed, injuring two Lincoln Co. Deputies.
According to troopers, Stanford Police attempted to stop 36-year old April Wallace, on suspicion of shoplifting. Wallace reportedly wouldn’t stop, and led police on a pursuit from Lincoln Co. to Garrard Co. That’s when police say she lost control of her car and crashed into a ditch on U.S. HWY 27 South. Police say two deputies suffered minor injuries during the pursuit and while making the arrest. Police also say Wallace hit a Deputy’s vehicle during the chase.
Wallace was taken to the Lincoln Co. Detention Center and charged with fleeing or evading, reckless driving, wanton endangerment, criminal mischief, resisting arrest, and assault.
