911 call leads to 2 heroin arrests in London
LONDON KY—The London Police Department says an Ohio man and woman are now in jail on heroin charges after a 911 call Tuesday morning.
Officers say the call, a report of possible drug activity near the London Shopping Center, came in just before 9:30 a.m. Police say when they got to the area, they conducted a traffic stop on a vehicle whose occupants matched the description from the 911 call.
Investigators say 28-year-old Phillip Latimer and 35-year-old Jennifer Jarrell consented to a search of their vehicle. Officers say during the search they discovered a black bag containing two used syringes under the front passenger seat. According to police, they also found a glass pipe in the bag, along with a plastic pen containing residue, and a metal spoon with a liquid substance in it.
Officers say the substance found in the syringe tested positive for heroin.
Latimer was arrested and charged with possession of a controlled substance. Jarrell was also arrested and charged with buying/possessing drug paraphernalia and possession of a controlled substance.
Both were taken to the Laurel Co. Detention Center.
