No probation for serial arsonist in Louisville

LOUISVILEE, Ky. (WTVQ) – A judge says “no” to probation for a holiday serial arsonist.

Linda Lee pleaded guilty in August to setting 43 fires around Louisville.  She was sentenced to 20-years in prison.  She started many of the fires by igniting Christmas wreaths on front doors after drinking at a bar.

Citing health concerns, her attorney asked for leniency on Monday, but a judge ruled against it.  Prosecutors and several victims testified they want her to stay in jail.

Abby Cameron, one of the victims at the hearing, said “She torched our house with no consideration for our safety. There is no guarantee that she would not participate in this felonious assault on people again.”

The Camerons and their child escaped when their home was set fire, but did suffer smoke inhalation.  Authorities say about half of Lee’s victims were neighbors she held a grudge against.

The fires caused tens of thousands of dollars in damage.
