LHS takes in 23 horses abandoned at stable
LEXINGTON, Ky. (WTVQ) – The Lexington Humane Society is taking care of horses that it says were abandoned at a Fayette County boarding stable.
Workers at the humane society says the horses were taken to the stable, but the owner had not paid for their care in months. Ten of the horses have been adopted out to local farms.
The shelter says they now have 23 horses that are being checked and will be ready for adoption soon .
The humane society is accepting donations, especially in light of a recent influx of new animals. Not only have they taken in the 223 horses, but they say they also have 34 cats that were dropped off, along with taking in dozens of Laurel Co. rescue dogs last week. Click here for more information.
