I-75 in Rockcastle Co. clear after 2 semis collide

MOUNT VERNON, Ky. (WTVQ) – Kentucky State Police say I-75 in Rockcastle was shut down for over 2 hours after 2 semis collided near the 53 mile marker.

Investigators say two Freightliners going northbound hit each other at about 7:30 a.m.

One of the drivers was taken by ambulance to Rockcastle Co. Regional Hospital, and then later taken to University of Kentucky Medical Center with non-life threatening injuries.

Troopers say neither drugs not alcohol were contributing factors in the crash, and that both drivers were wearing their seat belts at the time of the crash.

Clean-up crews worked over two hours to gather debris from the wreck, and traffic was re-routed onto KY 909, and then to US 25 in Mount Vernon.
