I-71 northbound reopens after tractor trailers collide in Carroll Co.
CARROLLTON, Ky. (WTVQ) – Both lanes of I-71 northbound have been reopened after an injury accident at the 50 mile marker of I-71 northbound in Carroll County.
Troopers say they were called to the scene at around 5:30 a.m. According to police, the FedEx truck overturned in the roadway and was hit by a second tractor trailer. The driver of the FedEx truck suffered non-life threatening injuries, while the other driver was uninjured.
The FedEx truck was marked as transporting hazardous materials, and was leaking, according to KSP. Emergency management addressed the leak at the scene. No word yet on what the hazardous material was, or how much was released.
The accident remains under investigation.
