According to Harrodsburg Police, 27-year-old Amber McGrath and 38-year-old Macklin Cornett both are charged with first-degree methamphetamine trafficking, possession of marijuana and paraphernalia and other offenses following a traffic stop Monday.
Investigators said Harrodsburg officer Isaac Shelton made a traffic stop after Mercer County Sheriff’s Capt. Scott Elder reported suspect drug activity in the Walmart parking lot in Harrodsburg.
Police said the driver, identified as Cornett, gave permission to search the car and as the search was beginning, Shelton saw McGrath drop a black bag on the ground.
Police said the bag contained several packaged baggies of suspected methamphetamine and marijuana. Located inside the vehicle was another baggie containing suspected methamphetamine, police said in a social media post.
After arriving at the Boyle County Detention Center, corrections officers located an additional baggie of suspected methamphetamine on McGrath, according to police.
Both are being held on $12,000 cash bonds.
