6-year-old collecting items for Lexington’s homeless
LEXINGTON, Ky. (WTVQ) – A six-year-old girl in Lexington is teaching us a lesson about giving back to those in need.
When Maci Seastrand-Stone started noticing the city’s homeless population, she knew she had to do something.
Now, she is collecting socks, hats and gloves to give to the homeless to help keep them warm this winter.
Melissa Seastrand, Maci’s mom, isn’t surprised by Maci’s drive to help, but is surprised by the amount of support her daughter is receiving.
Maci started with a goal to donate socks, gloves and hats to 100 people, quickly exceeding that goal. In just over a week, Maci has been given over $800, nearly 300 pairs of socks, over 100 pairs of gloves and about 60 hats.
She is collecting donations through December 23 with plans to hand out the cold weather supplies on Christmas Eve.
