59-year-old man killed when van crashes into tree

ROYALTON, Ky. (WTVQ) – A 59-year-old Magoffin County man was killed Thursday when the van he was driving left the road and crashed into a tree.

According to the Kentucky State Police, Marcus Risner, of Royalton, was driving a 2002 Toyota van on Puncheon Creek Road in Royalton in in Magoffin County when it left the road, struck a tree, and overturned.

He was pronounced dead on scene by the Magoffin County Coroner’s Office.

The accident happened at about 1 p.m. Thursday.

Trooper Jimmie Stratton is investigating the collision and was assisted on scene by Lifeguard Ambulance Service and Magoffin County Rescue Squad.
