58-year-old man charged with rape of 14-year-old girl

LONDON, Ky. (WTVQ) – A Laurel County man accused of raping a 14-year old girl faces new charges of raping two other teenage girls, according to the Laurel County Sheriff’s Office.
58-year old Dana Jones, of London, was arrested Jan. 31, 2021, after deputies say he was found at his home with a 14-year old girl.  Investigators say they also found “sexual material” on his cell phone.
On Friday, deputies announced Jones is now also accused of raping a 15-year old girl and a 19-year old woman.  Investigators say he’s also accused of giving alcohol to the 15-year old at his home.
Deputies say new charges against Jones include 1st Degree Rape and 3rd Degree Unlawful Transaction with a Minor.
When he was arrested at the end of January, Jones was charged with 1st Degree Rape and 1st Degree Sexual Abuse along with Possessing/Viewing Matter Portraying Sexual Performance by a Minor, according to deputies.
Jones has been in jail in London since his initial arrest.

LAUREL COUNTY, Ky. (WTVQ) – A 58-year-old Laurel County man was charged early Sunday morning with raping a 14-year-old girl.
According to Laurel County Sheriff John Root, Dana Jones, of Old Whitley Road in London, was arrested at his home just before 5 a.m. after deputies responded to a welfare check on a teenage girl and found Jones with the girl.
An investigation revealed Jones allegedly had raped and sexually assaulted the girl, Root said in a post on the department’s Facebook page.
In addition, Sheriff’s investigators found juvenile sexual material on Jones’ cell phone, the sheriff noted.
Jones was charged with rape – first-degree; sexual abuse – first-degree; possessing/viewing matter portraying sexual performance by minor.
Sheriff’s investigators assisting included: Lieut. Chris Edwards, Deputy Hobie Daugherty, Deputy Tommy Houston, Deputy James Fox. Sheriff’s Detective Taylor McDaniel is the case officer. Investigation is continuing.
