54 year old man indicted for murder by Grand Jury
PIKE COUNTY, Ky. (ABC 36 NEWS NOW) — A Pike County man now faces a murder charge after a deadly shooting in July.
According to Mountain Top Media, 54-year-old Clifford Triplett was originally arrested on a charge of second-degree manslaughter after police said he accidentally shot and killed 50-year-old James Mounts during an altercation.
A Pike County grand jury has since upgraded the charge to murder, which carries a possible sentence of 20 to 50 years or life in prison. Triplett was indicted last month and arrested Wednesday.
He is currently being held without bond at the Pike County Detention Center.
