500th Student Graduates After ‘Skid Monster’ Test

The Fayette County Driver Education Program celebrated a milestone Wednesday as it graduated its 500th student.

His name is Keith Guy and he’s a student at Scott County High School. The class focuses on defensive driving and avoiding accidents. County Attorney Larry Roberts said the lessons are necessary for young drivers because there are a lot of misconceptions about driving.

As part of graduating, students must tame the Skid Monster. It’s only one facet of the unique, not-for-profit education program.
