More than 50 people arrested in Lexington Police winter shoplifting blitz
LEXINGTON, Ky. (WTVQ) – The Lexington Police Department says its annual winter shoplifting blitz has resulted in criminal charges against more than 50 people.
“Operation See You When You’re Stealing,” a joint effort between Lexington Police and the Kentucky Organized Retail Crime Association, took place from December 9-11 and focused on stores along Nicholasville Road.
Police say 52 people were charged, 47 people were arrested and $5,337 worth of stolen merchandise was recovered. Officer says most of the stolen items included toys, clothing, electronics and groceries.
