5-year old killed in ATV accident

JACKSON, Ky. (WTVQ) – A 5-year old child is dead after being ejected from an ATV in Breathitt County, according to Kentucky State Police.

KSP says the accident happened Saturday (3/30), when the driver lost control of the ATV, causing the child to be thrown from the vehicle.

The child was pronounced dead at the scene by the Breathitt County Coroner, according to KSP.

The driver, 19-year old Makayla Marshall, of Florence, was taken to the hospital and treated for non-life-threatening injuries.

KSP says both driver and passenger were wearing helmets at the time of the crash.

The investigation is ongoing.
