5 sent to hospital after weekend collision involving state trooper
CORBIN, Ky. (WTVQ) – Kentucky State Police are investigating a collision involving a 13-year veteran trooper that happened on Saturday.
Investigators say just after 4:00 p.m. at the intersection of US 25E and KY 1629, 80-year-old Billy Latham was making a left-hand turn onto KY 1629 in his Ford Taurus, when he hit a state police Dodge Charger driven by Sgt. Alfred Bunch, who was headed north. The two vehicles collided, with Bunch’s Charger hitting the front bumper of a 2005 Ford Sprt Trac driven by 61-year-old Billy Anderson.
All of the drivers, along with two passengers were taken by EMS to Baptist Regional Medical Center
Investigators say Latham told them he believed he had time to safely make the turn.
