5 people injured on Kentucky Kingdom ride

LOUISVILLE, Ky. (WTVQ)-Several people took advantage of Saturday’s nice weather with a trip to Kentucky Kingdom in Louisville, but for five people that trip ended in a visit to the park’s health services center.

Two trains on a roller coaster bumped into each other.

The park says around 2:30 the second train on the T-3 looping coaster bumped into the first as it waited to unload passengers.

Five guests got medical evaluations.

Four went back to the park, but the fifth’s parents requested she visit the hospital.

Kentucky Kingdom says the ride will stay closed until the park can finish investigating.

According to park managers, state ride inspectors are aware of what happened.
