5 injured, including 4 students, after bus crash in Breckinridge Co.

HARDINSBURG, Ky. (WTVQ) — Five people were injured — a driver and four students — after a crash in Breckinridge County Monday afternoon involving a bus.

The crash around 3:30 p.m. CST involved a bus and a truck near the 700 block of Rosetta Corners Road.

According to Kentucky State Police’s preliminary investigation, Gilbert Edlin was driving a truck when he crossed into the path of a school bus.

He allegedly struck the bus head-on.

Thirty-one students and the driver were on the bus at the time of the crash; four students were taken to a local hospital for minor injuries and released a short time later. The bus driver was not injured.

Edlin, 29, was flown to the University of Louisville hospital with life-threatening injuries.

The portion of Rosetta Corners Road where the crash occurred was closed for several hours for troopers to reconstruct the scene.

No other information was immediately available.
