5 arrested in Corbin, drugs seized

CORBIN, Ky. (WTVQ) – The Sheriff in Knox Co. says five people have been arrested on multiple charges in Corbin after a report that a man was being held at gunpoint at a home on Hancock Avenue.

According to the Sheriff, it happened around 1:30 a.m. on Tuesday.  Deputies say when they arrived at the trailer there were seven people in the home.  After questioning the people, five of them were arrested.  Investigators say they found methamphetamine, used “crack” type pipes and several syringes in the home.

Arrested was:

  • Ross Helton, 29, of Corbin, charged with possession of controlled substance, and possession of drug paraphernalia.

  • Anthony R Skaggs, 29, of Gray, charged with possession of drug paraphernalia. Skaggs was also wanted on a Knox Co. bench warrant for additional charges.

  • Wiley Medlin, 30, of Gray, charged with giving an officer a false name. Medlin was also wanted on a Laurel County Bench Warrant for failure to pay fines.

  • Richard Edwards, 34, of Corbin, was wanted on a Pulaski Co. arrest warrant for flagrant non-support.

  • Krystal Rose, 30, of Corbin, was arrested on two Knox County bench warrants for failure to pay fines on unrelated charges.

All five people were lodged in the Knox County Detention Center.
