4 Asbury students rescued from rock in Red River Gorge
STANTON, Ky. (WTVQ) — Four Asbury University students were rescued Monday afternoon after they were stranded on a rock in Red River Gorge.
According to Powell County Search and Rescue, the four students climbed up Courthouse Rock to camp out but realized they wouldn’t be able to climb back down due to weather conditions and not having proper climbing equipment.
The students were airlifted out, officials told ABC 36.
PCSAR and Kentucky State Police coordinated the effort to get the students back to the ground.
