378 new Fayette COVID cases lowest weekend in a month
LEXINGTON, Ky. (WTVQ) – Fayette County reported 378 — 198 Saturday and 180 Sunday — new coronavirus cases during the weekend, the lowest weekend total in a month.
But health officials warn it’s too early to say the coronavirus has hit a plateau in the county.
The 378 cases pushed the county’s total above the 19,000 mark to 19,010, according to the Lexington-Fayette County Health Department’s morning report Monday.
The county has recorded 1,607 cases in the first six days of the month.
The county recorded three deaths, bringing the total to 132.
To help slow the spread of COVID-19, follow these guidelines:
• Wear a cloth face-covering in public
• Avoid close contact with others
• Wash your hands often
• Stay home if you are sick.
