30-year-old woman dies, three kids injured in Green County crash

GREENSBURG, Ky. (WTVQ) – A 30-year-old Greensburg, Ky., woman was killed Wednesday when the car she was driving collided head on with a pickup truck.

According to Kentucky State Police, Whitney Brown died in the two-vehicle crash that happened at about 8 a.m. on U.S. 68 in Greensburg.

She was westbound on U.S. 68 in a 2011 Mazda when she crossed the center line and struck an east bound 2018 Chevrolet pickup driven by 28-year-old Maxie Houk, of Greensburg, the KSP said.

Houk tried to swerve to avoid the collision but was unsuccessful, according to the KSP.

Brown was pronounced dead at scene by the Green County Coroner.

Houk, along with three juvenile passengers in Brown’s car, were transported to Jane Todd Crawford Hospital by Green County EMS.

This collision remains under investigation by Tpr. Weston Sullivan. Tpr. Sullivan was assisted at the scene by other KSP personnel, Green County Sheriffs Department, Green County Fire/EMS, and the State Highway department.
