3 people plead guilty to large-scale drug trafficking

LEXINGTON, Ky. (WTVQ)  –The Department of Justice says three people have pleaded guilty for their roles in distributing cocaine and fetanyl.

Court officials say 42-year old Shontail Hocker pleaded guilty to conspiracy to distribute five kilograms of cocaine and to distribute 40 grams or more of fetanyl. They say 48-year-old David Dewayne Morris and 47-year-old Kim Davis pleaded guilty to distributing two kilograms of cocaine.

Agents with the Drug Enforcement Administration say on February 9, 2018 they observed a drug transaction. They say they took two kilograms of cocaine from the defendants.

The DEA and Lexington Police say they used a search warrant to search the home of Shontail Hocker, where they took more than 200 grams of fetanyl, over $100,000 in currency, and metal presses used to process large quantities of controlled substances.

Sentencing hearings for all three defendants are scheduled for December 10, 2018 at the federal courthouse in Lexington. Hocker and Morris each face 10 years to life in prison, while Davis faces 5 years to life.
