3 People Injured in Off-Campus Shooting near Louisville

LOUISVILLE, Ky. (AP) – Louisville police say that three people were injured during a shooting early Sunday at an off-campus apartment complex.

Louisville Metro police spokesman Dwight Mitchell says the shootings occurred around 2 a.m. at The Retreat complex near the Louisville campus. University spokesman John Karman confirmed Monday that two of the people who were shot were Louisville students but did not provide any other details.

Mitchell added that an ambulance transported one unidentified male student and a female to University Hospital and that another male student went to Jewish Hospital.

Mitchell had no other details and said that LMPD was still investigating. Many Cardinals fans around the city were celebrating Louisville quarterback Lamar Jackson being awarded the Heisman Trophy earlier Saturday night.
