3 people arrested in February overdose death of 4-year-old

LEXINGTON, Ky. (WTVQ) — Three people were arrested Tuesday in connection to an overdose death of a 4-year-old in February.

Anderson George, Briana Turpin and Raven Houston were arrested and charged with the following:

George, 32:

  • Manslaughter 2nd Degree
  • Trafficking in Control Substance 1st Degree (Fentanyl)
  • Wanton Endangerment 1st Degree (2 Counts)
  • Tampering with Physical Evidence

In addition to the charges from the overdose, George was also charged by the Narcotics Enforcement Unit with the following:

  • Trafficking in Control Substances (Aggravated – Fentanyl)
  • Possession of Drug Paraphernalia
  • Importing Fentanyl

Turpin, 26:

  • Manslaughter 2nd Degree
  • Trafficking in Control Substance 1st Degree (Fentanyl)
  • Wanton Endangerment 1st Degree (2 Counts)
  • Tampering with Physical Evidence

Houston, 18:

  • Manslaughter 2nd Degree
  • Trafficking in Control Substance 1st Degree (Fentanyl)
  • Wanton Endangerment 1st Degree (2 Counts)

On Feb. 26, Special Victim Section detectives were notified of the death of a 4-year-old at a local hospital.

It was later determined the child died from a fentanyl overdose, according to Lexington police.

During the investigation, the three above suspects were identified and evidence of narcotics trafficking was allegedly found at a home on Bracktown Road.

George is being held at the Fayette County Detention Center.

Turpin and Houston are being held at the Boyle County Detention Center pending extradition to Fayette County.
