UPDATE: Fourth Hopkinsville man accepts plea agreement in sexual assault case
FRANKFORT, Ky. (AP) – The fourth and final defendant in a Hopkinsville sexual assault case of a minor has accepted a plea agreement.
22-year-old Dayton Jones entered his plea Monday in Christian Circuit Court. Jones was scheduled for a jury trial Monday.
Jones agreed to a 15-year sentence on sodomy, wanton endangerment, and distribution of matter portraying a sexual performance by a minor. He must register as a lifetime sex offender.
Jones must serve at least 8 1/2 years of his sentence before he is eligible for parole. He will serve an additional five years of conditional release at the completion of his sentence.
Jones’ three co-defendants in the case, 19-year-old Colton Cavanaugh, 20-year-old Samuel Miller, and 21-yeaar-old Tyler Perry, entered plea agreements last week. All four were sentenced for the sexual assault of a 15-year-old boy at an October 2014 party in Christian County.
According to the plea agreements, the four defendants, whose combined sentencing totals nearly 60 years, sexually assaulted the minor while he was unconscious at a house party. In doing so, the defendants inflicted serious physical injury to the minor.
Jones final sentencing is set for 1 p.m. Nov. 1.

Three defendants charged in the sexual assault of a 15-year-old boy at a house party in Hopkinsville have struck deals to testify against their alleged accomplice.
The Kentucky New Era (http://bit.ly/2bHAldH ) reports that Colton Cavanaugh, Samuel Miller and Tyler Perry agreed to testify against the only remaining defendant still facing charges, Dayton Jones.
Cavanaugh entered a guilty plea Thursday to amended charges of first-degree sodomy and first-degree wanton endangerment. His plea came a day after Miller and Perry also pleaded guilty to various charges.
The four are accused of assaulting the incapacitated 15-year-old at Miller’s house during a party. Police reports say the boy suffered severe internal injuries following the assault.
Jones’ trial is set to begin Monday. Final sentencing has been set for Nov. 1.
