3 arrested after University Avenue home invasion

LEXINGTON, Ky. (WTVQ) – Police in Lexington say 3 men have been arrested in connection to a home invasion Wednesday night along University Avenue.

Police were called to a burglary just before 9:00 p.m.  When officers arrived, they say the victims told them someone knocked at the door, and when they went to answer, three men forced their way into the home.  Victims also said one of the men had a gun.

Investigators say the three men got away with a backpack and some cash.

Shortly thereafter, however, UK Police stopped three men who matched the victim’s descriptions.  18-year-old Hunter Reynolds, 21-year-old Jartravious Merritt, and 20-year-old Reginald Kimball were taken to Lexington Police headquarters where they were questioned and subsequently arrested.

All three were charged with robbery, while Merritt and Kimball received additional charges for possession of marijuana.
