3 arrested after brief pursuit in Richmond
RICHMOND, Ky. (WTVQ) – The Madison County Sheriff says three people were arrested Monday after an investigation into ongoing drug complaints.
According to the Sheriff, deputies attempted to stop a 2005 Nissan Sentra on a traffic violation, but the driver sped off. After a short pursuit, deputies say the car pulled into the parking lot of the LaQuinta Inn, where three people jumped out and ran off.
Deputies were able to find and capture 47-year-old Gregory Hill, 39-year-old Vincent Curtis, and 26-year-old Laila Winfield.
Hill was arrested and charged with failure to wear seat belts, fleeing or evading police, reckless driving, disregarding a stop sign, carrying a concealed weapon, possession of drug paraphernalia, and operating on suspended or revoked license.
Curtis was charged with fleeing or evading police, possession of drug paraphernalia, possession of marijuana, and possession of controlled substance (Methamphetamine).
Winfield was arrested on an outstanding bench warrant.
All three were taken to the Madison County Detention Center.
