237 new Fayette COVID cases, one death
LEXINGTON, Ky. (WTVQ) – Fayette County health officials reported 237 new coronavirus cases Monday and one death.
The first week of December had 1,804 new COVID-19 cases, which brings the county total to 19,247. There have also been six deaths so far this month, including one reported yesterday; an additional three deaths reported yesterday were from November.
Tuesday marks nine months since Lexington’s first COVID-19 case. The Lexington-Fayette County Health Department has reported 136 deaths total during the outbreak.
To help slow the spread of COVID-19, follow these guidelines:
• Wear a cloth face-covering in public
• Avoid close contact with others
• Wash your hands often
• Stay home if you are sick.

The number of reported cases has grown steadily each month during the outbreak with November on pace to set a new record:
