Community honors fallen firefighter
MOUNT STERLING, Ky. (WTVQ)-The Mount Sterling Community came together Saturday to honor a fallen firefighter.
A knife and gun show at the Montgomery County Civic Center raised money for a scholarship fund in honor of Zachary Clevenger.
Clevenger died in December 2015 after fighting a fire in Estill County. He never woke up after falling asleep that night.
“It absolutely means the world to me. I have the best fire service family and EMS family. They have step on me through all of this and I couldn’t ask for a better group,” Christina Clevenger, Zachary’s wife, said.
Clevenger served with Montgomery County Fire/EMS for seven years. He was also a volunteer firefighter with the Estill County Fire Department.
