21c Museum Hotel unveils interactive art installation

LEXINGTON, Ky. (WTVQ) – On Thursday 21c Museum Hotel Lexington unveiled an interactive public artwork installation by Lexington-based artists Kurt Gohde and Kremena Todorova.

Called “Unlearn Fear + Hate,” the four-foot-wide stainless-steel halo is mounted on the Upper Street side of 21c Lexington.  The creators say the piece is an expression of their belief that fear and hate can be unlearned.

The project calls on the community to start taking photographs in front of the halo, as a form of “visual petition” to leave destructive beliefs behind.  The artists hope that as more photographs are taken and shared, a civic dialogue will be fostered.
