2024 Kentucky Oaks winner Thorpedo Anna retires

LEXINGTON, Ky. (ABC 36 SPORTS) – 2024 Horse of the Year, Thorpedo Anna, has been retired from racing. She will now begin her second career as a broodmare at Hill ‘n’ Dale at Xalapa in Lexington, Kentucky.

Thorpedo Anna had a remarkable career, winning 10 graded stakes races, including 7 Grade 1 races. In 2024, she was named both Champion 3-Year-Old Filly and Horse of the Year. She also won the Breeders’ Cup Distaff and earned more than $5.4 million during her time on the track.

Now, a 20% ownership share in Thorpedo Anna will be offered at Keeneland’s Championship Sale on October 29 at Del Mar, just two days before the Breeders’ Cup begins.
