UPDATE: Missing teenagers found in Cumberland Gap National Historical Park area

MIDDLESBORO, Ky. (WTVQ) – Good news as two missing teenagers have been found safe.

The Cumberland Gap National Historical Park posted on Facebook that Erica Gamerdinger, 13, and Keith Griffith, 15, were found Friday morning were found in the local area. The teenagers are safe, in custody and in the process of being returned to their families.

The search involved collaborative efforts between Cumberland Gap National Historical Park Rangers, the Claiborne County Sheriff’s Office, the National Park Service Investigative Services Branch, Tennessee Bureau of Investigation, the Lee County Sheriff’s Office, Virginia State Parks and the Virginia State Police.

MIDDLESBORO, Ky. (WTVQ) – The search for a missing teenager expands to the search for two missing teenagers as new details have been released.

An update from the Cumberland Gap National Historical Park’s Facebook page provided more details about Erica Gamerdinger, 13, and Keith Griffith, 15, who are believed to be together.

Gamerdinger is around 5’5″ tall, weighs about 100 lbs and has blonde hair. She is thought to be wearing the same clothes she was originally reported missing in.

Griffith was last seen on July 26 in the area of Speedwell, Tennessee. He is 5’11” tall, around 160 lbs and has brown hair and blue eyes. He was last seen wearing black and grey shorts and a grey or blue t-shirt. Griffith has a known medical condition and is thought to be without medication.

MIDDLESBORO, Ky. (WTVQ) – A search continues for a missing 13-year-old girl in Cumberland Gap National Historical Park.

According to park rangers, the teenager was last seen July 26 in the Wilderness Road Campground at the borders of Virginia, Tennessee and Kentucky.

Park rangers said she was wearing a dark blue floral tank top and jean shorts.

Rangers said they are working with Middlesboro Police and law enforcement in Tennessee and Virginia.
