LEXINGTON, Ky. (WTVQ/Press Release) – Drivers should be aware of upcoming temporary lane closures on I-75 in Scott County. The closures between milepoints 121.14 and 125.528 are needed for asphalt pavement rehabilitation.
The road work project will cost $13,578,015.05 and is expected to be finished Tuesday, Nov. 30.
No weekend work has been planned, but that could change based on weather and project progress. The speed limit will be brought down to 55 miles per hour with double fines in effect.
On Sunday, Aug. 1 from 7 p.m to 9 p.m., a single lane closure will be in place SB for the slow/right lane for paving over the rumble strip. Then, until 6 a.m., a single lane closure will be in place northbound for the slow/right lane for paving over the rumble strip. After the paving and striping is complete, traffic will be held for 20 minutes at a time with a rolling roadblock until transitions can changed to shift traffic onto the right hand shoulders first in the southbound direction and then northbound. This will occur in the early morning hours when traffic volumes are the lowest.
Starting Monday, Aug. 2 through Friday, Aug. 6 from 7 p.m. until 6 a.m. each evening and morning, both southbound and northbound directions will be reduced to one lane in each direction for temporary concrete barrier wall placement.
Drivers should plan for and expect delays.
