LEXINGTON, Ky. (WTVQ/Press Release) – As crews work on a bridge deck overlay on the Clays Ferry Bridge on I-75 Southbound, drivers should be aware of temporary lane closures.
The $4,451,122.81 project is expected to be completed Thursday, Oct. 7. The bridge is located on the Fayette-Madison County line.
The work will range from milepoints 97.541 and 97.703. Traffic control will be in place between milepoints 96.9 and 98.3.
At all times, two lanes will remain open including shifts onto the shoulder. No weekend work is currently planned, but could change depending on weather and project progress. The speed limit will be reduced to 55 miles per hour with double fines in effect.
From 10 p.m. on Sunday, Aug. 1 to 6 a.m. on Monday, Aug. 2, crews will be placing barrels and signage for traffic control and lanes will start closing. Afterwards, from 6 a.m. through 12 a.m. Friday, Aug. 6, work will begin with two lanes open and two lanes closed in each direction.
The schedule of work from 6 a.m. to 12 a.m. each weekday will continue until the work is complete.
Drivers should anticipate and expect delays.
